Comet or Alien?
Anything celestial-related intrigues me, and the interstellar object 31/ATLAS on a trajectory to Earth has me mesmerized. Scientists can’t seem to agree on what it is. Some claim it is a comet, and others are convinced it is of alien origin.
Science is not my strong point, and I rely on information from professionals to form an opinion. This object, traveling at an astonishing 210 000 km/h (130 000 mph), will reach its closest point to Earth on December 19, this year, if it is a comet.
A minority of scientists claim it is an alien spacecraft/base station from God knows where, on its way to make contact with Earth. This is an exciting theory and also a little intimidating. What on earth could they want with us?
Is this a natural phenomenon or a self-propelled alien craft? Let’s talk about it.
I wonder if humanity weren’t such a catastrophe, would so many be praying for aliens? As if some cosmic sequel to Marvel were coming to save us. Personally, I’d settle for a comet but sure, let’s dream of a galactic busload of robot armies or a celestial king stomping its boot on the face of human tyranny, bug-style. 😉
Maybe something to remind us of just how big it all is - a gift of awe and wonder.
