Before The Sun Rises

A soft moment

In an alternate universe
I am sitting on a beach
Watching the sun rise 
Over the Indian Ocean
My camera capturing
The soft pastel moment
Before it peeks over the
Undulating blue expanse

Apricot and pink paint the  
Candy floss clouds drifting
Slowly across a dreamy sky
A breath away from the 
Fire that ignites the horizon
Time stands still in that 
Impossibly silent moment
Waves crashing on the sand

Caressing my naked feet
I wish then for time to pause
These precious magical seconds
To last for an eternity
The softness of Mother Nature
Enfolding before my eyes
My camera captures the scene
A precious gift of memory
