This is so true Rea.... Changes in life will always be there. I've cried over it, screamed at it and loved it... Thanks for the reminder not to fight it 🙏🏻🌬🦋
Yesterday I met someone on Substack who unlocked something and made me shed a few tears for the young idealistic me that got destroyed. I cried for her because she tried so hard to be a good person but she was being too nice and got trampled over. It nearly killed her, that poor kid. I needed to give her some love because she really didn’t know any better. She honestly thought that being nice would get her to safety but it doesn’t work like that, does it? Maybe the younger you made similar (although different) mistakes?
Nothing stays the same. That's either bad news or great news depending on your perspective. I do think one of the more important things is to welcome it, be excited for it and curious about it. If we are to exist in the infinity of everything, we must accept change. To be stalled, to be stuck, would be depriving ourselves of the greatest part of humanity- Our ability to evolve and grow, to learn and move closer to our potential. Thank you for this. Love, Virg
Rea, everything in here is so true - and I would not have understood this as a young person just starting out in the world. About ten years ago, someone said to me, "Anything can happen to anyone at any time." Now I would add to that, "And it will."
All very well said and realized, Rea. I’ve had to embrace change so many times in my life that I feel it should be my job title. Transformation Guru. ☺️ There is so much beauty in this and in the NOW. Goals are like gold and dreams are the silver threads of life. Mixed together we transform day in and day out. I hope you find the beauty in the unpredictable…in the freedom. 🙏
Life sure is difficult and full of unexpected pain. When it comes to change, I wonder how much stress and mental tension we cause ourselves by replaying fears in our minds. Are we refusing to let go and adapt when things change? Thanks for sharing this with us!
Some people do not handle change well at all. I am married to one. He constantly tells me how he wants me to be who I was when we met. I am not that person anymore. This was informative. Thanks!
Acceptance is hard to get to but your piece shows it's possible to have more equanimity in the face of things we have no control over--- by focusing on what we do have sway over, being our authentic selves.
Beginnings, endings, cycles, heartache, joy, pain. Change is another thread in the fabric of the universe’s love language.
The Universe’s love language. Aptly said!

Me too, Simona. Hugs.

The younger me thought everything would work out, Sarah. I believed, but alas. 🩷🩷
Change may derail our plans, but it also creates the space where new ideas can become something.
Exactly! 😊

Exactly, Patty.

I know exactly what you mean! 😄 Thank you for the lovely comment. The freedom. Anything is possible. 🤍🩶
Beautifully written and 100% agree. We must embrace change or else suffer.
Thank you, Meredith!
It's a really good article. The answer is that if you want to change your values, you have to face and embrace yourself
That's true Jihyun .

I think fear is definitely a factor when it comes to change. Fear of the unknown. Thank you for reading.
Provocative words, Rea. So very true. Change is one of the definitions of life (or so it seems).
I agree, Stephen.

I am sorry your husband doesn't handle change well, Aurelia. What did he think would happen?
Who knows?
I had to laugh. We know men, don’t we? Sending peace and love. 🤍

Precisely Gabrielle. 🩶
Truth. And this can be so very hard to accept. Somehow coming from you it feels easier though 🤗
There is nothing we can do, Esther, except use it to help others overcome the pain. Thank you my friend. 💞
