Farm kids learn life through a different lens. It's a blessing and a way of understanding life that city kids will never know. Thanks for this. Love, Virg
This took me back to my childhood and my grandparents' farm. We spent our holidays there, but still learned many life lessons as we had such freedom and space to entertain ourselves. It will always remain a magic memory for me.
There is something about learning about different types of schools. It's always kind of fascinated me. Whether it's kids going to school in big cities or small farm towns. Learning about schools, and the kids who went to those schools, gives insight into the larger community they're a part of. I was always fascinated by any kind of school or community that was different than mine.
I realized how different it was at athletic meets and other sports. We were a force to be reckoned with. With a lively spirit. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment Lindsay.
This piece really hit me! I loved your description of that 'different freedom vibe' in farm communities and how nature itself teaches responsibility and shapes the kids growing up within it. The idea of teachers who get those differences is powerful too. It's making me reflect a lot on the challenge to stay authentic, especially as I'm currently writing a scene involving a 4-H club in my own story's setting, a newly built desert town where rural life is forced right alongside a very different 'planned' suburban world. Thanks for sharing this!
You need to write a book about this Rea, there’s a rough magic to the picture you paint 🙌
Thank you for your heartfelt comment Esther! I was blessed in so many ways. Grateful. 🙏
“a rough magic” may be the best compliment I’ve ever heard. ❤️
I agree Paul! ❤️

That’s the truth Virg. Thank you. Love to you.
I can't remember the last time I thought of those days. Or at least the amazing, sacred parts. Thank you for such a beautiful reminder.
Thank you Taffy. 💞

Definitely! Sports events are always a tell of the community.
