I can feel the cold splashes on my own skin. Terrific, Rea.

"May time pause in this heavenly place" what a beautiful way to end this, dissolving reality into a dream

Very fresh, I'm feeling it. Waterfalls like poetry and candles soothe my spirit.

Concise and beautiful

Lovely rhythm and flow, Rea. A funny thing is that my poetry has been criticized for rhyming. Although all my poems don't rhyme, most do, and I decided to embrace it by calling my page Rhymes for Humanity.

None of mine rhymes! I think I did one last year. I enjoy your rhythmic poems.

This poem feels like someone stepping into a moment of pure instinct, letting the world pull them in without resistance.

There’s something charming about how it starts almost as an experiment and then turns into a full‑body experience.

The waterfall becomes a place where thought drops away and sensation takes over.

The cool water on warm skin is described with such immediacy that you can almost feel the shock of it.

The fish, the rocks, the sunlight everything feels alive and quietly welcoming.

The rainbow appearing on the speaker’s face feels like one of those small, perfect accidents nature gives you when you’re paying attention.

There’s a softness in how the poem lets the moment unfold without forcing meaning onto it.

It reads like someone rediscovering the joy of simply being present in their own body.

The rhyme adds a playful, almost old‑fashioned charm that fits the scene surprisingly well.

By the end, it feels less like trying a new style and more like stumbling into a moment of unexpected bliss.

Rhyming is tricky, but you’ve done great with this. I love the sun and mist painting a rainbow on your face 🌈

Rea de Miranda's avatar

Thank you, Lily. I imagined myself there. It's awfully hot here.

We are on the tail end of summer in Australia, hopefully the heat wave part is behind us. Standing under a waterfall sounds blissful, the closest I’ve been is under the sprinkler. And there were rainbows! ☺️

Rea de Miranda's avatar

I'm in South Africa. I hope it starts cooling down, or I will run through the sprinkler. 😆

😆 It’s not as crazy as it sounds. Well, I loved it as a kid. Our very own home made waterfall.
