Follow your bliss Even on a trajectory of Anticipated wreckage I’d much rather perish In a state of euphoria Than wretched regret Find what you love and let it kill you The great Bukowski said Let it consume you With a fiery passion Rather than merely existing Let the exquisite hunger Destroy your resistance Allow it to overcome you Die with a song of praise And ecstasy on your lips While it devours your remains All roads lead to death Choose the path that Ignites your perfect bliss Don’t allow lamentation To follow you through The gates to eternity
Powerful, love the line “Die with a song of praise.” My partner who passed one year ago taught me this well, he enjoyed life fully even through the pain. I felt called to share my poem that I just posted about my journey walking him home. Hope you’ll give it a read. 🙏🏼
This feels like someone sprinting straight into the sun on purpose. Dramatic in the best way. I love how it leans fully into desire instead of tiptoeing around it — like, yes, if we’re all heading to the same ending anyway, might as well choose the path that sets us on fire a little.
Truth! ❤️
