Life, A Theatre
Life, a theatre
This life is a theatre we well may call,
Where every actor must perform with art,
Or laugh it through, and make a farce of all,
Or learn with grace his tragic part.
- Robert Bland
You perform the star role in this production
Which mere mortals simply call life
Art, the mouthpiece of your existence
Every night after curtain call
You analyze every applause
Every heartbreaking pause
Did it reach the hearts
Of those who witnessed
Your tender unraveling?
Your tragic part exposing
A broken spirit mending
With graceful dance
A farce hides your true identity
The Joker acting a part
Laughter covers the scars
Life is an elaborate theatre
Which we call creative art
Your audience awaits…
