The Pink Floyd song came to mind when I read your title! We all need to remember your words. There but for the Grace of the Universe, the hand of the Divine, go I. We're only one major event, job loss, illness, etc. away from a very different kind of life. Always thankful.
I know we shouldn't look away but it is hard. And knowing it could have been us standing and begging for scraps makes it even more terrifying to look them in the eyes.
I’ve been thinking a lot about this very thing lately. Specifically how hypocritical the vast majority of us are. How many preach about human rights and justice from a moral high ground while ignoring beggars in the street. Another powerful piece, Rea.
Pfff, Rea! So true! It's definitely not a choice they made. Life led them there, so at least we could be nice to them! I've imagined myself in this kind of situation several times, mostly as an exercise, but real life is way tougher than that. I'm really glad you brought it to light!
A good lesson to always hold in mind <3
Thank you, Deer. ❤️❤️
you captured it so well
we have no idea how much we have and how grateful we should be
Thank you for seeing the truth.
Namaste
