Pain Most Sacred
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain. And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy.” - Kahlil Gibran
We need to break wide open through our sacred pain. Bow before this most holy altar, bleed willingly. This is consecrated ground, where we will find our truth. You cannot know yourself and your meaning before you have lived in agony. Pain will break you wide open, and your spiritual path will unfold.
“For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen, And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.” Kahlil Gibran
Our pain is not a punishment, it is a blessing. Given to us so that we can find under all the layers, the breathtaking beauty that is hidden. I thank the Potter for bringing it to my lips. Because after all, I will taste His sacred tears. My soul rises to meet the cup, in supplication and wonder, for I am loved in my holy tears.
