The little things Sweep me off my feet Crawl into my ribcage Beats in rhythm with my heart Spring bleeding color On winter’s faded canvas Thunderclouds gather To slake the parched ground The little things Melt my entire being Enfuse the cosmos With euphoric ecstasy A knowing glance Across centuries of divide Recognizing a twinsoul For a halting moment The little things Suspend my breath Silence my frantic mind Frozen in forever The sun slips toward the horizon A palette of ethereal hues Bleed across the fading blue Above a blood-red fireball The little things Crawl into my ribcage Fold itself around my aching heart With eternal grace
Gorgeous poem, Rea. All of the poem is meaningful and beautiful, but I selected the following lines:
"The little things
Suspend my breath
Silence my frantic mind
Frozen in forever"
The idea of breath being suspended is so relatable. I have felt this type of phenomenon myself. Life's little things have a way to still our frantic minds for sure.
Currently reevaluating my journey, and if memory is correct, it’s been “the little things” that have been the most impactful, positively. That I take forward.
I also found the poem and thoughts generated by your words quite emotional 🙏
The little things are the big things if you're paying attention. Love , Virg
