Oh yes, I think many of us will relate to this…I end up getting up and reading because the alternative is the endless recycling of thoughts…ugh! Restacking ❤️
Dear Rea, I think this one is my favorite. After a brief period of unemployment some years ago, the only job I could get was administering university research grants, internships, and reviewing proposals.
I was very upset at the time that Id reached “Game Over” on my technical career, when was gifted a framed print of this Hopper, with a note that read, “Stop whining. You've got the best job ever! You are opening doors and shining light into the darkness for the next generation of scientists and engineers!”.
This painting is a constant reminder of that reassurance
The nightmare of insomnia, which feels like an intrusive presence, an unwanted companion that disrupts the natural rhythm of life and rest.
But the bonus is that I have plenty of time to explore and create digital art!
It wakes up the mind, to create. You are right, Mark!
An enchanting description of insomnia. Thank you!
Thank you!
Insomnia is my friend.
I gave up fighting it long ago

Without the noise, we can write. True, Tom!
And yet, so many times, words for the page will arrive along with all the rest.
Many midnight thoughts turned into posts. ❤️
The Guinea Fowl caught my eye this morning, taking me to roads in Zimbabwe.
I can imagine! 🤍

I know! It drives me nuts! Thank you, Esther.
I understand these sleepless, restless nights all too well! 🫶
Sending peace, Chano. 🤍
You have captured insomnia at its core. Great piece. ❤️
Thank you, Storm. ❤️
Dear Rea, I relate to this completely! As much as one looks forward to rest, there is always that nagging fear of what the night will actually bring.
I think Hopper captures this feeling well-

That's a beautiful painting. I resonate with ocean and open door!
You are so lucky, Mike!
Our elusive dreams held forever, just out of reach. I feel this one. 🦋

Oh, to be able to write beautiful poetry like this at 3 o'clock in the morning because I can't sleep
Thank you, Kathleen!
You’re welcome,Rea
The dreaded nights of insomnia. I remember them well, but luckily have not had very many in the last few years.
They come and go, Nancy.
I hear you.
Me, too.
Sweet dreams, Thomas.
Insomnia, who doesn't know that vicious aliment? Excellent job transforming it into beauty with this poem
Thank you, Daniel. 💤
That witching hour brings many hauntings. May the tender rhythm of breath find you again and again, leading you to rest. <3
Thank you, Stephanie. May it find you. 🩵💤
This poem moves with the rhythm of sleeplessness…wandering, haunted, and beautifully restless. Like the long night. Lovely.
Thank you for feeling that restless haunting, Kim.
