The Sad Scarecrow
Inspired by Pink Floyd - Scarecrow
The scarecrow stands all alone In the waving field of wheat You say he doesn’t care And resigned to his fate He stands tall and brave Keeping birds away From your hard labor And food for your home But late at night When the animals are all asleep Tears roll down his Patched-up face sadly You want him to look fierce And crazy and wild To scare all the birds Gone and away But his heart is breaking For he desires a friend To keep him company During the lonely, sad nights Then all of a sudden A friendly voice whispered From the top of his head Don’t cry, Scarecrow I’m the patched-up bird sown on your hat To keep you company When darkness descends
Namaste

So from 10:43 pm to 11:38 pm last night I was grappling with identifying feelings and the emotions they reflect and finally as it was so late at night and needed to put my head on my pillow and shut my eyes for the night decided in my journal entry for my feelings could only be described as "tired" from the vast vocabulary of feelings at my disposal. The inevitable result of that hour long struggle grappling with the very concept of identifying feelings and their emotions.
Not surprisingly on waking this morning and reading from Substack which I personally find has more depth than X so is my go to not X, my perusals came across a cancer warrior celebrating her now becoming a cancer survivor from breast cancer and the journey she has been taking in 2025 in realising a dream to be a published writer which the cancer diagnosis had put on hold temporarily.
I like Substack because it gives writers the space to share there deepest thoughts with courage that inspires myself with admiration.
Love it, Rea!!🫶🏼
It made me emotional 😭💖
