We Are One
We are deeply invested In establishing our unique individuality Setting us apart from the mediocre What we seem to forget Is that we are all connected Formed from the same Source Our lives are intricately woven Into a brilliant tapestry of unity Flowing ceaselessly together What we mistake for original Has been borne millions of times And in coming centuries will recur Our delusions are divorced From the fact that we are The collective form of One Like the stormy oceans merge Waves crashing and flowing Becoming inevitably One Our little islands of Self Created carefully with love Are merely archipelagoes Our puzzles fall together With absolutely artistically crafted Perfection and precision
Namaste

All beings, whether universal or particular, were created perfect and complete from the beginning. The most one can say is that their perfections only become apparent gradually. The law of God is one; the evolution of existence is one; the divine order is one. All beings great and small are subject to one law and one order.
(Abdu'l-Baha, Some Answered Questions, p. 199)
The poem poignantly diagnoses the human struggle with separateness. Abdu'l-Baha's words offer the healing balm of divine perspective: we are not flawed fragments striving for a distant wholeness. We are, right now, inherently perfect expressions of a unified, divine reality, gradually awakening to that truth. The "artistically crafted perfection" isn't just the pattern of the tapestry; it is the very essence of each thread from its inception.
Being part of each other is what makes the news coming through our screens so horrific. Thank you
