Your Wildness
Suffocated me...
Your craziness excited me Your wildness attracted me Every day was an adventure You lived as if today were the last Impulsive and spontaneous An insatiable hunger for life Then your presence became An overbearing shadow Looming over me You suffocated me You smothered me I couldn’t breathe You wanted all of me Too much from me You tried to swallow me I felt surrounded by you Demanded by your need An ominous threat I know it broke you But I was fading away Into nothingness I had to flee your shackles Break the bond Of possession, you forged Your relentless pursuit Frightened me Submission was no option I refused to be your prey Hunted for pleasure Restrained by threats I disappeared from your life Left you reeling in shock Freedom was all I desired Peace returned to my life The chains broken Silence restored

I like how this can apply to so many different life situations or thoughts that can drag one down. Words release thoughts that give strength to actions.
This is deeply moving and beautiful poetry. Some would say that it’s only on the pathway of true submission that freedom can be found and only when submission is given in love not fear.
