Wow this is so interesting because I did experience this while going through a deeply painful time in my life. I would count my steps walking to and from my office. I was living in New York City at the time so sometimes I would count up to 1,000. Once I was on the other side of my grief, the counting stopped just as quickly as it came on. I didn’t know it had a name. Thanks for sharing!
I count the letters in sentences and names. I usually do this when I'm trying to fall asleep. It's soothing. And I'm only happy if I can make the sentences end in even numbers. So what you're saying totally makes sense to me!!!

Thank you for sharing Stephanie. I think our minds find ways to cope during difficult times. Hugs. ❤️
Fascinating, how we find ways to cope.
I thought I was just crazy, until I looked deeper. It removed me from the situation but it didn’t help me deal with it. Now I let peace wash over me.

Wow a fellow Arithmomanian! I just made that word up.
Love and even numbers flying your way!
