This made me think of a prayer by Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) that says: ''O Allah, let the best of my lifetime be its ending, and my best deed be that which I seal my life with and the best of my days the Day I meet You.''
I truly enjoyed reading your words, Rea. It's so rare to see death discussed in such a positive light, and you’ve done it beautifully. Thank you for sharing this unique perspective.
Thank you so much, Libertarian! That truly means a lot to me. I deeply respect your faith as well, and I’m grateful for the mutual understanding we share. May God bless us both on our journeys. All the best,
This makes sense of where Dom was ‘at’ in his final days. It does reassure me Rea, so thank you for that. But I’m very glad you found your way back though so I could meet you here my friend x
I am so grateful I clawed my way out of it. It gave me some peace too Esther. I hope they were in that same calm place of inevitable acceptance. Sending love my friend. I'm happy I found you.
I'm so glad you stayed. 🙏 Although you wrote this from a place of deep pain and sorrow , it also feels like it could be a metaphor for the discomfort we all feel when we're ready to shed our pain and step into the true light of who we are. Even if someone has never had suicidal ideation, I think both the conscious and unconscious desire to merge back with our creator is something all humans have. We are spiritual beings having a human experience, and those cries for "home", although we may not be able to name them, are something, we've all experienced. Thank you for always being so brave with what you share. You inspire us all.

Thank you for receiving my words with beauty.
Mymy, I am Roman Catholic and I have great respect for you and your faith. God bless us both.

You articulate the compulsion so beautifully in this piece. 😍
Thank you Jane. Compulsion is the right word.
Thank you for sharing, you can feel so much in your words, and they are what so many of us need to read.
Thank you Liv. 🩶🤍
That sense of calm is terrifying. Then you get tunnel vision and all you can see are the steps to make it happen.
So glad you're still here Rea!
Do you mind if I include some suicidality resources - hotline numbers?
Thank you Gabrielle. Yes please share it.

As a bereaved parent, who survived the car accident that took my daughter's life, i empathize with those feelings and have had similar ones myself.
Sending love and peace Lasita. It's a difficult road.

Thank you for your beautiful reply Stephanie. You are right. We are spiritual beings and we yearn to return "home". 🙏
So powerful. I am glad you are in a better place.
