Doubt is a sword that kills.
How many of us don’t feel doubt in our lives? Sometimes we experience it for a reason, but mostly for no reason. We miss chances and get stuck in situations because we are doubtful, not just of ourselves, but also of others around us.
Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother. - Khalil Gibran
We feel suspicious about our loved one’s love and faithfulness. It is a very unsettling thing if you are not able to trust your spouse or partner. You can’t give yourself completely because you wonder about their love and if they will stray and hurt you. How can any relationship work if one of you feels suspicious about the other?
We mistrust others’ motivations for their actions. Sometimes people do something out of the goodness of their hearts, but we wonder if it is true and if there is something behind it. We overanalyse people’s intentions and find hidden meanings in their actions. We distrust their honesty.
We hesitate to take steps in life to better ourselves. You don’t want to apply for a job because you think you won’t get it. You get stuck in a position where you are unhappy because you don’t feel you are good enough for something else. You are uncertain about your ability to make a move in a new direction in your career because you don’t know if you will be successful.
We have qualms about starting a new life, because what if we don’t make it? What if we are not good enough? What if we are not strong enough? Doubts are stopping us from reaching our goals. We don’t realise the potential we are capable of.
There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.
Buddha
Take some chances today, and believe, for once, that you are good enough!

As a writer, an artist, I'm riddled with self-doubt, and that's probably true for most of us. However, sometimes doubt masquerades as intuition. If I feel strongly about something or someone, I examine that feeling. Taking it out of the dark and shining a light on it so I can be sure. The way to resolve our own self-doubt? Bravely put your truth out there and see if it resonates with others, as you do so prolifically. :)
Doubt does knock on my door from time to time. I usually open it and tell him to go away. Then he gets on my nerves, and I really drive him away. Sometimes, you have to get a little mad to fight off the demons. Thank you for sharing, Rea.
