Emotional Vampires
Beware, they come in disguise.
In shadows, they creep and drain
Siphoning life from every gain
Their presence, a subtle chill
Leaving emptiness, a hollow still.
With words, they weave a web of pain,
and feed on emotions like a stain.
Their love, a poison sweet and fine,
Draining hearts, a slow decline.
Beware, for they come in disguise.
Masks of friendship, loving eyes,
But beneath a hunger, dark and cold.
Waiting to devour you whole.

This is hauntingly beautiful, Rea. The rhythm lulls like a lullaby, but the message cuts like a blade. So much truth wrapped in lyrical shadows. Thank you for sharing this chilling reminder of the masks we sometimes fail to see.
Warm regards,
John
This is beautiful and well-composed. I've known a few people who absolutely fit this description. Thank you for sharing! Love, Virg
