This is such a gentle, yet powerful reminder. Thank you for sharing these words. It’s so easy to stay trapped in guilt or self-blame, replaying past mistakes endlessly—but as you wrote, everything that happened served a purpose in shaping who we are today. Accepting the past doesn’t mean excusing it; it means freeing ourselves to step fully into the life we are meant to live.
Your reflection encourages a compassionate pause, a deep breath, and the courage to release what no longer serves us. Moving on isn’t forgetting—it’s honoring growth, learning the lessons, and allowing our present and future selves to flourish.

Love the Hafiz quote, and your observation that shame and guilt are a lack of forgiveness in our own lives, and it's nigh on impossible to move forward towards our best life, if we're not able to let go of our mistakes or let them define our future. Thank you for this. Love, Virg
Amen to all of this. Blaming ourselves is a very normal thing to do after tragedy (unless we’re psychopaths!!! ) But it really is so much wasted energy and potential if we persist in carrying guilt beyond its expiry date. I love how well you express this here Rea…thank you 🙏❤️
A beautiful gentle reminder. I have to remind myself regulary to leave well alone when things come to prick my conscience. It is difficult but it stops the burdens from increasing. Thank you dear Rea. ❤
I am also moved by the poetry of Hafiz. Thanks for sharing, I too believe everything happens for a purpose, even the hardest life lessons. My beloved crossed over 10 months ago from cancer, it’s hard to accept but it’s felt important to my soul to trust that his journey was meant to be and he was such a firm believer in forgiveness. He said no one should ever dwell in guilt or shame, release that, forgive, and be grateful. Here is my latest post, a poem written to him about surrender. Hope you’ll check it out, I appreciate the support. 🙏🏼🍂

Namaste. 🌿
Thank you for understanding the message. Guilt and self-blame serves a purpose for a while, but they shouldn’t be allowed to overstay.
