My son, who is a very deep thinker with a mathematical brain said in conversation yesterday that history shows that man has moved in very small increments towards a better morality. He said it doesn't seem that way when we look at the bad. He actually referenced the dismantling of Apartheid as an example and the move towards a more integrated and tolerant society. I thought that was interesting. Let's hope our children do better.
Beautiful poem, Rea. My daughter is pessimistic about the future of our planet because of all of the harm previous generations have done to it. I hope her generation can effect change for the better.
The current generation has unprecedented access to information and one can only hope their connectedness and knowledge will move the world to a better place than the dystopia we will leave behind.
Dear Rea, I've been at a swim meet for the last two days. There were hundreds of kids here, from early teens to college students, competing.
Watching them work extremely hard, give their very best, and - best of all - support each other gives me hope that your vision of healing and growth is realizable
